Bear Fetish
Is in normal for cats to chew/shred card board?
My crazy rescue cat Libby has a card board fetish. Today she destroyed a build-a-bear box with her teeth. Its fun to watch and I don't mind cleaning up after her its just odd to me. She has shredded a box a week since we've had her. She was feral and out side before coming to us.I don't know if that matters. We love her to death and take constant photo's of her craziness. I just want to be sure she isn't lacking something that would make her eat cardboard.
She is a pip, I am so glad we have her. Even our 10 y/o male can't resist her. He plays like years ago with her. Ofcourse she won't take no for an answer!
Totally normal, but you might want to get her a scratching post and some toys to chew on. Cardboard tends to break up after a while into little pieces. Chewing on it is OK, but once it is in little pieces, she'll probably eat it and that's not good for her.
